Severn Sport Player of the Month w/ Cirencester Carpet Centre – January 2026
The Severn Sport Player of the Month is back for another season of honouring the players who stand out in front of us!
Our Player of the Month sponsor are back for the 2025/26 season and they are the Cirencester Carpet Centre Ltd visit their website here to check out their range of carpets and vinyl flooring, directions to the showroom and contact information to arrange a viewing of their samples.
As usual, the Player of the Month shortlist is made up of three players included in the Team of the Month for that month –check out January’s Team of the Month here.
The winner is presented with the award and an image of them receiving the POTM trophy is then shared on Severn Sport’s social media during the following month.
Some of last season’s winners included then Hartpury duo Riley McGregor and Ben Baxter, Longlevens U18s trio Sam Kelly, Toby Boakes and Henry Driver-Dickerson – plus Phil Chovanec became the first goalkeeper to win the award.
This season’s winners have been Tuffley Rovers’ Callum McGuirk, Gloucester City U18s’ Lewis Vye and Slimbridge defender Ryan Ponting.
So let’s check out this month’s shortlist
Harlie Price (Cirencester Town) – Price scored four against Westfields in front of Alfie and then struggled slightly to impact the game against Lydney Town and then Pershore – but his goals against Westfields were something to behold and saw him secure yet another hattrick. HP is flying!
Jay Wells (Longlevens) – Wells completes a hattrick of appearances in the team after yet another impressive showing against Fairford. He looked like he could have been replaced after taking a knock, but stayed on and produced a Man of the Match performance. Wells is really having an outstanding season.
Libby Goater (Gloucester City Women/Reserves) – Goater has been outstanding since joining City this summer and has been an absolute engine in the midfield. Goater stepped into the Reserves squad for the win over Paulton after missing a couple of First Team matches and absolutely ran the show. Hell of a player.
