Severn Sport Tipster League 2026 – Day 1 Results
The Severn Sport Tipster League is back for the ninth year and once again we have a whole host of hungry tipsters searching for the crown!
Once again this year we have a league of 13 tipster teams battling it out for the title of King Tipster. Their antepost tips are placed, the daily races have been decided and tips have been picked.
Today’s selected races are as follows:

13:20 – Supreme Novices’ Hurdle
1) Old Park Star (13/8 Fav)
2) Sober Glory (9/2)

NR: Leader D’allier
Drama before the off as Leader D’allier is declared a non-runner a couple of hours before the first – but it actually benefitted both of the tipsters who saw their reserve come in.
Absolutely Useless and Pint Please Landlord both saw extra points due to their replacements doing the business and scored 4 points and 5 points respectively.
Elsewhere, Up The Swans, Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8, Top Trotters, The Oracle, Square Leg and Creosote all had double points on the winner, so scored 6 points each.
Money Man Ash had the forecast, so scored 5 points, whilst PridayPower had 1st and 3rd so scored 4 points.
SPM27 had the winner, so scored 3 points and both The Fox and Sweet Prince scored zero points.
14:00 Arkle Challenge Trophy
1) Kargese 7/1
2) Kopek Des Bordes 11/8
Three tipsters used a HP (Have a Punt) boost on Kopek Des Bordes and scored 1 point each. They are Up The Swans, The Oracle and Can’t Bowl. Bat at No 8.
Sweet Prince and Square Leg also had Kopek Des Bordes as their antepost tip, so picked up 2 points each for the place.
15:20 Ultima Hanidcap Chase
1) Johnnywho 18/1
2) Jagwar 3/1
3) Quebecois 10/1
4) Blow Your Wad 14/1

Wow. Incredible tipping from Sweet Prince and Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8 who had the winner, with Sweet Prince collecting the full 5 points for the win plus the bonus points for the SP – but the latter also losing 2 points for having the pulled up horse.
Elsewhere, there were place points for all of SPM27, Money Man Ash, Up The Swans, The Oracle, Top Trotters and Pint Please Landlord – setting up the day for the final race of the three.
SPM27 and Creosote will be kicking themselves for putting Johnnywho down as their Reserve.
16:40 – Plate Handicap Chase
1) Madara 3/1
2) Will The Wise 10/1
3) Moon D’orange 25/1
4) Downmexicoway 9/1
Faller: Booster Bob
Pulled Up: Down Memory Lane
Another good race for our tipsters, with all of The Oracle, SPM27, Money Man Ash and Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8 scoring 3 points for the winner, whilst Absolutely Useless picked up 5 points for the forecast.
Pint Please Landlord had Madara as their antepost tip so picked up a whopping 7 points in total as they had the pulled up horse too.
PridayPower and The Fox scored -2 points for having a pulled up or faller, whilst Up The Swans had the winner and the pulled up horse so scored 1 point.

Pint Please Landlord storm to the lead after their antepost tip romped home, whilst Can’t Bowl. Bat at No. 8 and The Oracle also had a strong day.
Absolutely Useless, Up The Swans and Money Man Ash come next, with Square Leg, SPM27, Top Trotters and Sweet Prince hold decent positions after day one.
League newcomer Creosote hasn’t done too badly, whilst PridayPower and The Fox need a better day tomorrow for sure.
