The Severn Sport Player of the Month is back and this season, we are going at it alone!

After having the award as a sponsored award for the last two seasons, we have brought the award back for the 2023/24 season – solely provided by Severn Sport.

As usual, the Player of the Month shortlist is made up of three players included in the Team of the Month for that month – check out February’s Team of the Month here.

The winner is presented with the award and an image of them receiving the POTM trophy is then shared on Severn Sport’s social media during the following month.

This season’s winners include Longlevens winger Shiyak Sutherland, Gloucester City Women Development Captain, Nicole Lewis and Slimbridge winger Rudi McKinnon.

Last month saw Longlevens U18s striker Jacob Chamberlain scoop the award.

So let’s check out this month’s shortlist

Ben Vine (Cinderford Town) – Ben Vine is the first name on the shortlist for Player of the Month after a couple of outstanding performances for his side. Vine has proved to be a fantastic signing for Matty Driscoll’s side and could play a huge part in the end to the Foresters’ season.

Joel White (Tuffley Rovers) – White is the second name on the shortlist for Player of the Month and for the first time, we have two defenders on the same shortlist! White has been incredible this season – in particular of late and continues to show his class.

Liam Harper (Brimscombe & Thrupp) – Harper is the third and final player on the shortlist for Player of the Month after a man of the match display in the win over Cinderford and another sold game in the draw against Longlevens. He has grown into a very good step 5 player since joining Brimscombe and I’m excited to watch him continue to progress.
