In Photos: Aldridge Cup helps raise money for Alzheimer’s Society
On Sunday afternoon Gloucester City’s KMM Energy Stadium played host to the first Aldridge Cup charity game in honour of raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
In a game that that saw a Boots vs Scrubs game including local players and staff of the NHS, the Scrubs side secured a 6-3 win despite a late rally which included an injury time penalty from organiser Haydn Hilton and went on the lift the trophy.
Boots’ keeper Jamie Downer and Scrubs’ forward Igs Correia Gouveia were awarded the Player of the Match awards at full time by Severn Sport’s Ryan Butler – who also handed out the medals for both sides and the match officials.
At the time of writing, the day has raised nearly £4000 for the society, with the Just Giving page still active until the end of July.
Gloucester City’s photographer, Jamie Brain, was also in attendance to capture a great afternoon for a great cause.
