The Severn Sport Team of the Month includes players that have stood-out in the featured games during the previous month.
In February, collectively we covered 11 games throughout the month and they were:
Saturday 7 February – Gloucester City 3-1 Weymouth
Sunday 8 February – Gloucester City Women Reserves 0-4 Whitchurch Ladies
Sunday 8 February – Gloucester City Women 3-0 Frampton Rangers Ladies
Friday 13 February – Gloucester City U18s 4-2 Longlevens U18s
Saturday 14 February – Winchcombe Town 0-1 Bream Amateurs
Saturday 21 February – Tuffley Rovers 1-0 Westfields
Saturday 21 February – Bishops Cleeve 2-1 Winchester City
Sunday 22 February – Gloucester City Women 2-3 Torquay United Women
Tuesday 24 February – Bishops Cleeve 2-1 Cheltenham Town Reserves
Wednesday 25 February – Longlevens 3-0 Cribbs
Saturday 28 February – Longlevens Reserves 5-0 Falcons
Check out this month’s XI below:
Goalkeeper – Mitchell Smith (Bream Amateurs) – The month saw two GNSL goalkeepers earn their place on the shortlist and it was Bream’s Mitchell Smith who gets the nod over Falcons’ Ollie Undy after Smith’s Man of the Match display against Winchcombe in front of Alfie. A great display that earned his side three crucial points.
Defender – Ollie Morrissey (Longlevens Reserves) – Morrissey put in a MOTM performance against Falcons and got the three big ticks, goal, assist, clean sheet. He is a vital part of a really strong Division One side and filled in at right back to show his desire to help the team.
Defender:- Jake Lee (Bishops Cleeve) – Lee is the second of three goalscoring defenders in this month’s team after his late winner against Cheltenham Town Reserves in the County Cup. A great header to earn his side a spot in the final and cap off a good week for the Mitres at that point.
Defender – Ollie Long (Longlevens) – Long got his name on the scoresheet in the County Cup QF win over Cribbs and he continued to impress as ever. He led his side from the off and was solid at the back, when you couple that with getting the crucial second goal in the tie, it was an all round great showing.
Defender – Callum McLean (Tuffley Rovers) – McLean may not have scored to complete the set for the defence, but he was the only choice for a left back, because he was that good. Having played most of the season at right back, McLean was filling in on the left against Westfields and was very impressive. He is a young man improving by the game.

Midfield – Junior Kposowa (Gloucester City U18s) – I really like Junior as a player, he just doesn’t stop working for the team, no matter the situation. His side were 2-0 down against Longlevens and looked set to be dumped out of the Severn Sport Cup, but he grabbed the midfield by the scruff of the neck, set the example and was a deserved winner on the night.
Midfield – .Noah Rubio (Bishops Cleeve) – Rubio impressed Alfie when he came off the bench against Winchester, then just days later put in a MOTM display against Cheltenham Town Reserves. An exciting new recruit for the Mitres who could be one to rejuvenate the squad for the remainder of the season.
Midfield – Ilarna Nche (Whitchurch Ladies) – I have Nche in the midfield of the team but it is mainly because I can’t leave her out! A stunning hattrick against City Reserves in a 4-0 win for Whitchurch, but what is most impressive is just how powerful she is – both when dribbling with the ball and when battling off it.
Forward – Sachi Kaneko-Grun (Gloucester City Women) – Kaneko-Grun is a fantastic footballer and a real asset to Gloucester City. What is noticeable is how her role has changed when Georgia Vandries is on the pitch, as it frees her up to move out of the centre forward position and influence the game down the wings. Great versatility.
Forward – Ross Langworthy (Bishops Cleeve) – Langworthy is like a fine wine, getting better with age. He is still so, so good and is as reliable as ever with key roles in the comebacks over both Winchester City and Cheltenham Town Reserves. Pretty much inevitable.
Forward – Maggie Neall (Gloucester City Women) – I have been really impressed with Neall in recent games as she has played in a left wing/wing-back role for City and the threat she offers is incredible. In February she has chipped in with goals and assists and is setting the standard for her side.
Here is the XI in full:

The subs bench includes 7 players to impress over the month and in full, they are below:

Sam Kelly (Tuffley Rovers)
Harry Pinchard (Gloucester City)
Henry Driver-Dickerson (Gloucester City U18s)
Rylie Siddall (Gloucester City)
Rio Spencer (Longlevens Reserves)
Faith Constable (Whitchurch Ladies)
