Severn Sport can officially launch our pre-season tournaments for the summer – including the very first Women’s tournament, the Severn Sport Trophy.

We are back with the sixth Severn Sport Shield in July, before the first ever Severn Sport Trophy in August – with both tournaments following the same format.

For those who don’t know, the tournaments have four local sides competing over the course of a week, during pre-season.

The sides are drawn into two Semi Finals, with the winners playing in a Final, which follows a Third Place Play-off earlier in the day.

All games in the tournament take place at the same host ground, which moves from club to club over the years.

The Severn Sport Shield will be hosted by Stonehouse Town this season, following an unfortunate situation caused us to move the Shield away from the Ben’s Takeaway Stadium in July 2023.

Joining Stonehouse in the Shield this summer are Tuffley Rovers, Forest Green Rovers U18s and Cirencester Town.

The Shield’s dates are Tuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th July, with the finals day on Saturday 20th July.

For the Severn Sport Trophy, Gloucester City Women will be in the tournament, as well as hosting the games at the TigerTurf Stadium.

Joining Chris Hill’s side will be Cirencester Town Ladies, Longlevens Ladies and Cheltenham Civil Service Ladies.

The date’s for the Severn Sport Trophy are Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th August, with the finals day taking place on Sunday 11th August.
