The Severn Sport Player of the Month is back and this season, we are going at it alone!

Our new Player of the Month sponsor for the 2024/25 season is Cirencester Carpet Centre Ltd visit their website here to check out their range of carpets and vinyl flooring, directions to the showroom and contact information to arrange a viewing of their samples.

As usual, the Player of the Month shortlist is made up of three players included in the Team of the Month for that month – check out August’s Team of the Month here.

The winner is presented with the award and an image of them receiving the POTM trophy is then shared on Severn Sport’s social media during the following month.

Some of last season’s winners included Longlevens winger Shiyak Sutherland, Gloucester City Women Development Captain, Nicole Lewis, Slimbridge winger Rudi McKinnon and Chalford duo Ben Minnican and Luke Benneyworth.

So let’s check out this month’s shortlist

Joe Hanks (Gloucester City) – Hanks has had a fantastic start to the season, scoring goals, creating chances and inspiring his side to wins in the league cup. Hanks came on the breakfast show a couple of weeks ago and said how much getting Gloucester City promoted means to him and his performance levels so far back that up.

Riley McGregor (Hartpury University) – McGregor has started the season very well – producing high quality performances for Hartpury and now being dual-registered with Gloucester City and to be honest, you can see why City have signed him up. Confident, capable on the ball and can create as well as score himself. One to watch this season, for sure.

Theo Clayson (Slimbridge) – Theo has had an incredible opening month and that doesn’t even include his miss of the season contender vs Tuffley. Ironically, it seems like it is the only chance Theo hasn’t taken so far this season! He has threated to step up in front of goal for the last two seasons, so I am not surprised to see him doing so well.

The Severn Sport Player of the Month will be back next month – so check out our social media throughout the month to find out who won this month’s trophy!
