FA Vase & Trophy Early Round Draws: Slimbridge on the road in trophy, Sharpness wait for tough opener & Stonehouse Town at home
The FA have released the early round draws for the FA Vase and FA Trophy, with a number of our sides receiving a bye in the former.
All of Longlevens, Tuffley Rovers, Cheltenham Saracens, Sharpness, Brimscombe & Thrupp and Shortwood United have all been given a bye into the Second Qualifying Round, whilst Stonehouse Town, Newent Town, Cirencester Town, Lydney Town and Fairford Town have all been draw in First Qualifying Round action.
Due to their run last season, Cinderford Town do not enter the Vase until the First Round Proper in October.
Fairford Town, Lydney Town and Cirencester Town will head to Avonmouth, Malmesbury Victoria and Woodley United in the First Qualifying Round on Saturday 15 August, whilst Newent Town are at home to Almondsbury and Stonehouse Town welcome Thornbury Town to the Ben’s Takeaway Stadium.
In the Second Qualifying Round, Cheltenham Saracens will head to the winner of Stonehouse vs Thornbury, whilst Tuffley will head to the winner of Welton Rovers vs Chipping Sodbury Town.
Longlevens will welcome either Radstock Town or Keynsham Town to Saw Mills, whilst Brimscombe & Thrupp host Yateley United and Shortwood United have been drawn away to Wantage Town.
Sharpness will head to the winner of Brislington vs Royal Wootton Bassett Town in a tough Vase debut.
Cirencester could host Corsham in the Second Qualifying Round if the Centurions get through, whilst Lydney and Fairford could also be at home in the Second Qualifying Round on Saturday 12 September.
In the FA Trophy, Slimbridge will head to Paulton Rovers in the Preliminary Round, with the winner heading to Swindon Supermarine in the First Qualifying Round.
Hartpury and Bishops Cleeve will both be at home to league rivals in the First Qualifying Round, welcoming Exmouth Town and Bristol Manor Farm respectively.
