The winner is presented with the award and an image of them receiving the POTM trophy is then shared on Severn Sport’s social media during the following month.
Some of last season’s winners included then Hartpury duo Riley McGregor and Ben Baxter, Longlevens U18s trio Sam Kelly, Toby Boakes and Henry Driver-Dickerson – plus Phil Chovanec became the first goalkeeper to win the award.
This season’s winners have been Tuffley Rovers’ Callum McGuirk, Gloucester City U18s’ Lewis Vye, Slimbridge defender Ryan Ponting, Gloucester City duo Kane Simpson and Elis Watts, Cirencester Town striker Harlie Price and Gloucester City Women’s Maggie Neall.
Longlevens & U18s forward Theo Bevan scooped the award for March.
So let’s check out this month’s shortlist

Jack Sargeant (Longlevens Reserves) – What an incredible month for Sargeant. Making crucial saves in the win against Bicknor, a stunning stop in the win against Tredworth and then an outstanding display in the play-off game against Wessex Wanderers. He has laid down a huge marker for next season by becoming very reliable in between the sticks.
Callum Tye (English Bicknor & Gloucester City U18s) – Anyone who listened to the End of Season awards show will know how much I rate Callum Tye. Fifth in the Live Player of the Season, in the Live XI of the Season and caps off the season with a well deserved spot in the May Team of the Month. As solid as ever for City U18s in the Severn Sport Cup final and playing his role (alongside the rest of his Bicknor side) of party poopers against Longlevens – which included a well taken equaliser at the time.
Jakson Thomas-Phillips (Gloucester City U18s) – The match winner and Man of the Match in the Severn Sport Cup final and a player that probably hasn’t quite received the plaudits he should have done over the season. One of the most creative players for City U18s and a player with a bright future if he continues to improve as much as he has throughout the season.
We will be handing out the Player of the Month awards for April and May in the new season – with the Player of the Month returning in September!
