Stroud League confirm arrangements for 2025/26 finals: Six League Cup Finals and three Play-off Finals to be played

The Stroud & District League have confirmed the arrangements for their cup and play-off finals for the 2025/26 season.
Six grounds will be used to host the six League Cup finals and three Play-off Finals between Thursday 23 April and Friday 8 May, with games hosted by Stonehouse Town, Longlevens, Slimbridge, Shortwood United, Tuffley Rovers and Brimscombe & Thrupp.
Stonehouse’s Ben’s Takeaway Stadium hosts the first final, the Bill Bick Cup, on 23 April as Wotton Rovers Reserves meet Abbeymead Rovers 3rds.
Shortwood United host the Dennis Mason Cup final between Leonard Stanley and Nailsworth Town on Thursday 30 April and the Derek Freebury Shield final between Mintey Reserves and Twigworth Green on Saturday 2nd May.
The Meadow, home of Brimscombe & Thrupp, is the venue for the Chairmans Cup on Thursday 7 May as Cam Bulldogs take on Sherston Town.
Both Slimbridge and Longlevens will host a cup final and one of the three play-off finals, with the Swans’ Thornhill Park the venue for Tuffley Rovers 4ths vs Cam Everside Wanderers in the Fred Gardiner Shield final on Friday 24 April and the first play-off final, which will be played on Friday 1 May.
Saw Mills will host the all-Gloucester Presidents Cup final, Old Richians vs Tuffley Rovers Reserves, on Monday 4 May as well as the second play-off final on Saturday 2 May.
Tuffley Rovers will host the final game of the Stroud League season in the third play-off final on Friday 8 May.
At the time of writing, the three play-off finals, for Division 3, 4 and 5, are yet to be finalised due to league games remaining.
The Stroud League typically try to allocate finals based on geographical location – hence why the Presidents Cup final is being played in Gloucester as it is being contested by two Gloucester sides.
Plus there is consideration for sides to not play at a “home ground” – so for example if Longlevens 4ths make the Division 3 play-off final, then the league would be more likely to have the game being played at Slimbridge or Tuffley Rovers, instead at Longlevens’ first team ground.
