TOTM2025

The Severn Sport Team of the Month is here once again!

As with previous years, the Severn Sport Team of the Month is sponsored by Murdock & Wasley Estate Agents.

Luke Murdock and Matt Wasley have been fantastic supporters of Severn Sport for a number of years and they are run one of the most successful estate agents within Gloucestershire.

The Severn Sport Team of the Month includes players that have stood-out in the featured games during the previous month.

In November, between Ryan and Alfie we managed to get to 13 games throughout the month and they were:

Saturday 1 November – Bishops Cleeve 3-1 Bristol Manor Farm
Saturday 1 November – Cinderford Town 0-2 Longlevens
Sunday 2 November – Gloucester City Women 1-2 AEK Boco Ladies
Saturday 8 November – Gloucester City 3-2 Havant & Waterlooville
Saturday 8 November – Cirencester Town 3-0 Tuffley Rovers
Sunday 9 November – Gloucester City Women 1-2 Forest Green Rovers Women
Friday 14 November – Gloucester City U18s 4-0 Cheltenham Saracens U18s
Saturday 15 November – Longlevens 1-0 Slimbridge
Wednesday 19 November – Longlevens 0-0 FC Stratford
Saturday 22 November – Gloucester City 2-0 Chertsey Town
Saturday 22 November – Bishops Cleeve 6-1 Brixham
Tuesday 25 November – Gloucester City 1-2 Farnham Town
Saturday 29 November – Hartpury 2-1 Swindon Supermarine

Check out this month’s XI below:

Goalkeeper – Tash Hibbert (AEK Boco Ladies) – Goalkeeper was between Tash and Longlevens keeper Drew Brei and whilst Brei had more stand out performances in front of us over the month, Hibbert had an unreal display at Gloucester City and has really had a great start to the campaign for Abi Nicholas’ side.

Right Back – Dan Roddis (Longlevens) – If the season ended tomorrow then Roddis would be nominated for a number of awards at the End of Season Awards for sure. He has been part of a back line and team who rival most others in the Hellenic League for form over the last month.

Centre Back:- Jay Wells (Longlevens) – Another part of the solid Longlevens defence during November is Jay Wells, who has filled in both at left back and centre back in front of Severn Sport and in particular in the win at Cinderford Town, he is adapting to the level very well.

Centre Back – Millie Lacey (AEK Boco Ladies) – Whilst Hibbert received all the plaudits for the win against Gloucester City, our POTM went to Lacey, who was outstanding at the back. She made crucial challenges, blocks and put her body on the line just for three points when her side were not firing on all cylinders.

Left Back – Callum Tye (Cinderford Town/Gloucester City U18s) – Tye impressed for both Cinderford Town and Gloucester City U18s in November, and has shown his quality in both defensive and offensive situations. I know that Foresters boss Matt Driscoll loves his work rate and willingness to put the team first and the more I see Tye play the more I see it.

Midfield – Soyam Sherchan (Longlevens) – Outside of the impressive defensive line for Longlevens, I have enjoyed watching Soyam Sherchan play in the midfield. Whilst he isn’t the first name on the team sheet, he comes on and gives everything when needed and against FC Stratford in the cup, he was given a start and he seized his moment. As far as attitude’s go, for young players especially, his is second to none.

Midfield – Nathan Jenkins (Hartpury) – Jenkins scored the winning goal against Swindon Supermarine and scooped the MOTM from Alfie for it and I am not surprised by this. Jenkins has been frighteningly consistence since playing for Hartpury and will play a key role all season long as the Acorns settle into life in the Southern League.

Right Wing – Jack Watts (Bishops Cleeve) – Wattsy will be reading this and rolling his eyes as he is out on the wing in the TOTM again, but consider this a 4-2-4. We are going full on attack mode and after a stand-out performance against Brixham I received a text from Alfie saying that Jack Watts simply “ran the game from the first whistle.” Always quality.

Left Wing – Jay Malshanskyj (Bishops Cleeve) – On the opposite flank we have Jay Malshanskyj, who is arguably the most important player for Bishops Cleeve from an attacking sense. He scores goals, works hard, creates chances and is a really exciting prospect.

Forward – Kane Simpson (Gloucester City) – Simpson has had an incredible run since his arrival at the KMM Energy Stadium and if City are to seriously fight for the title, then he could be the man to take them to the next level – both in terms of performances on the pitch and their current step. He has scored all sorts of goals since arriving and that doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon.

Forward – Lucy Atkinson (AEK Boco Ladies) – Just edging out Fin Gwillim and Rhian Robbins, is Lucy Atkinson and the reason she made the team is because Lucy has had to bide her time and recover from injury, waiting for her chances back in the Boco team and against Gloucester City she was back to her best. On another day scores 3-4, but Boco will be delighted to have her firing alongside firepower in Aimee Clark and Meg Bloomer.

Here is the XI in full:

The subs bench includes 7 players to impress over the month and in full, they are below:

Rhian Robbins (Forest Green Rovers Women)
Fin Gwillim (Longlevens)
Drew Brei (Longlevens)
Harlie Price (Cirencester Town)
Shaun Warren (Gloucester City U18s)
Jess Frazer (Gloucester City Women)
Jakson Thomas-Phillips (Gloucester City U18s)

This month’s team will be managed by Longlevens First Team Management duo Buster Davies & Pete Boyle after an unbeaten month including wins over Hellenic Premier promotion chasing Roman Glass St George and Slimbridge.
