GolfFore: Annual charity golf event starting in 2026 launched

A brand new charity golf initiative has been launched, with the first event set for July 2026 at Westonbirt Golf Course.
Local Goalkeeping Coach and Analyst, Matt Turl, has put the brand together to raise funds for charities who support families when patients are placed in palliative care or facing terminal illnesses.
This follows the passing of his mother in November 2024 and Turl was inspired to help raise crucial funds for charities who provide the level of support and service that his family received during a difficult time.
Speaking to Severn Sport about the event, Turl said the following:
“I’ve created an initiative called Golf Fore – Golfing in memory of.
This is an annual event that has a goal to raise awareness of issues that are faced in terminal illness, Palliative Care Sectors but to also highlight how families that are going through these awful times can gain grief support and where to start looking. This was a massive part, especially when we lost our Mum.
The inaugural event is a one day event taking place in July 18th 2026 at the Westonbirt Golf Course.
We have player registrations open and available, We will be announcing schedules and Tee Times closer to the time but any donation big or small helps go a long way.
Not many people will know but Palliative Care Providers like this years charity, Sue Ryder, who provided my mum and my family with amazing care, costs £15,000 per day to run.
They rely heavily on donations to support their work so any and all help makes being able to provide this care possible.
Alongside donations and players interested in joining the event, if companies are wanting to help then please get in touch!“
