Severn Sport End of Season Awards 2025 Shortlists: John Ashplant Local Hero & Jamie Hyett Awards

The shortlists for the Severn Sport End of Season Awards are here!
The judging panel have whittled down the list of nominees to six (with some categories having a final seven or eight due to the amount of points scored) and the finalists are locked in.
Today our attentions turn two of the most sentimental awards, the John Ashplant Local Hero and Jamie Hyett Awards.
The Jamie Hyett Award is for the U18s Player of the Season and this year has the longest shortlist to just how divided the judges scoring was!
The shortlist is made up of Longlevens U18s trio Sam Kelly, Toby Boakes and Henry Driver-Dickerson, Dursley Town U18s duo Billy Mann and Joey Spill, Slimbridge U18s keeper Kieran Winstone, Gloucester City U18s Captain Sam Sullivan and Gloucester City Women’s Naomi Baldwin.
For the John Ashplant Local Hero, the shortlist includes Chris Coward of Barnwood United, Longlevens’ Bill Davis and Craig Martin, Gloucester City volunteer and supporter David Miller, local photographer Brian Rossiter and reluctantly, Severn Sport and our very own Ryan Butler.



The judging panel will now select their winners of the awards, which will be announced on the live show on Saturday 7 June.
