Gloucester City Women are through to the Gloucestershire FA Women’s Trophy final after beating semi-final opponents Cheltenham Saracens 12-0 at the Tigerturf Stadium, writes Abi Harding.

Goals from Sachi Kaneko-Grun, Laina Warren, Lucabella Davis, Sophia Gomez, Puneet Randhawa, Mollie Skibinski, Taite Scheafer and Miranda Smith ensure City have a place in the final.

The hosts opened the scoring in the seventh minute, Kaneko-Grun getting her first of the afternoon, slotting an effort into the bottom right-hand corner.

Saracens then went close to an equaliser, Emily Collar’s powerful effort from long-range crashed off the crossbar.

However, City got their second not long after, Kaneko-Grun again on hand to score her second, which wasn’t dissimilar to her first.

Two minutes later, the third was added, Davis lobbing keeper Stroud, who was off her line.

Warren got City’s fourth, her brilliant effort from long-range nestling into the back of the net.

Just three minutes later, she got her second and Gloucester’s fifth, this time from a header, as City went in five goals to the good at the break.

Likewise with the first half, it didn’t take the hosts long to score in the second, Randhawa getting in on the action, cutting in on the right-hand side before slotting her effort home.

Kaneko-Grun then got her hattrick, skipping past two Saracens defenders before calmly finding the corner yet again.

The eighth of the afternoon was scored on the 75th minute mark, Gomez scoring from close-range.

The ninth came shortly after, Warren the second player to score a hattrick at the Tigerturf Stadium.

Defender Skibinski made the scoreline double-digits, squeezing between three Saracens players before poking home from close-range.

Smith got the 11th two minutes from time, another long-range effort flying into the back of the visitor’s net.

Scheafer got the 12th with seconds to spare, turning over Daniela Soave’s byline cross.

Gloucester City will face Frampton Rangers Ladies in the final.

They travel to Paulton Rovers next weekend as they look to take a step closer to the league title, whilst Cheltenham Saracens travel to Longlevens Ladies.
