Dursley Town Ladies end winless run with victory over Longlevens

Dursley Town Ladies ended a run of thirteen games without a win with a deserved 2-0 victory at Longlevens Ladies
Goals from Lily Ryan and Louise Peglar saw Dursley clinch their first win since their 3-0 win over Longlevens back in September.
The result sees Dursley move to within two points of AEK Boco Ladies Reserves, but Boco have three games in and and six remaining in total, where as Dursley only have one game left.
For Longlevens, it was their first game since the start of March and a disjointed second half was evidence of that.
After the game, Dursley Player/Manager Biff Hill was visibly when talking to Severn Sport and said she was “delighted for the girls, they deserved that.”
Dursley round off their season on Sunday 4 May, when they head to Cheltenham Saracens, where as Longlevens still have three games left and can have a big say in the Division One title race.

The game started with both sides winning corners, but were unable to test Georgina Macey and Louise Jewkes in the respective goals.
Izzy Kester had the first chance of the game on 15 minutes, but sliced wide from Tianna Chant’s cross.
Lucie Jones, who was the best player on the pitch throughout the 90 minutes, had Dursley’s first effort on goal, but it sailed just wide from range.
Both sides had great chances on the half hour, with Louise Peglar’s long range effort was palmed over by Jewkes, with Levens counter attacking and Holly Cox just not able to reach a through ball and Macey collected.
Cox did work a yard of space on the right side of the box and got her shot off, but Macey saved well to her left.
Two big moments helped Dursley go into half time ahead, with Liv Kosylowicz beating the offside trap and lobbing Macey and the goal and Dursley took advantage moments later, as Lily Ryan volleyed home from a corner.
The visitors went into the break in front and they clicked in the second half.
Jones went close to a second just after the restart, but she fired wide from 18 yards.
Just after the hour mark, Dursley doubled their lead and sealed the deal.
Another corner from the right came in and Peglar diverted the ball in with her face to make life easier for Biff Hill’s side.
From there, Dursley took full control and went close to a third through Lily Herbert, Ryan and Peglar, with all three firing off target within five minutes of each other.
The best chance of a third came with just under 15 minutes remaining, but Molly Brosnan somehow scooped her effort over after being picked out free in the box.
Longlevens were unable to break down an impressive Dursley back line, who restricted the hosts to set pieces in the second half – but even then they weren’t able to test Macey.
Dursley claimed a well overdue three points and will look to make it two wins from two to complete a tough campaign.
