Tigers sign former Everton winger Femi Orenuga

Gloucester City have announced the signing of former Everton winger Femi Orenuga on a short term contract until the end of the current campaign.

The 21-year-old has a fantastic pedigree, becoming the youngest player to ever appear for Southend United, before a move to Premier League side Everton and a loan spell at Notts County.

Since then, Orenuga has played in Scandinavia, in the Sweden Second Division for AFC United in Stockholm, and was most recently at Norweigan outfit Raufoss IL after a one game appearance for Conference South side Whitehawk.

The Lewisham born winger has impressed Tigers’ manager Tim Harris with his rapid pace and believes the club can help him and vice versa.

“This is an ideal situation for both Femi and Gloucester City,” explained Harris.

“He is professional in every sense of the word, he is very quick and has good qualities; more importantly Femi is determined to show what he can do back in the English game and help us climb up the table.

“I am sure you will all welcome Femi to the Tigers and look forward to seeing you all in our important local derby against Worcester City on Sunday at 3pm.”

In the announcement on the official Gloucester City website, the club states that it is “currently in negotiations with 2/3 more players and after Joe Parker’s return to Newport County, they are hoping to conclude at least another addition prior to this weekend.”
