Severn Sport are delighted to be adding the Gloucestershire County Women’s Football League into our coverage for the 2021/22 season.
The league confirmed it’s constitution last week and confirmed how all three divisions will look for the new season with sides like Gloucester City Women and Longlevens Reserves joining the league for the first time.
The constitution shows that Gloucester City Women will play in Division One next season after joining the league, with Tuffley Rovers receiving promotion to Division Two for the next campaign.
After the league’s AGM a couple of weeks ago, the GCWFL Divisions are as follows:
Bristol & West
Bristol Rovers Development
Cheltenham Civil Service
City of Gloucester
Forest Green Rovers 2nds
Red Falcon Club
Bishops Cleeve Reserves
Bristol Ladies Union Youth Development
Olveston United Reserves
Southmead Community Sports
Whitchurch & Bristol
Following the news that the GCWFL is being added to the list of leagues covered by Severn Sport, Head of Programming Ryan Butler has welcomed the news and is excited to get going.
“This is something that has been a long time coming really. Kelsey and I have had many discussions about ways in which we can improve and expand our coverage of local football at all levels and adding the GCWFL is something we have been meaning to do for the last 18 months.
With the pandemic seeing changes to how we have run certain aspects of Severn Sport, I feel that we are now in a position to not only add more Women’s Football to our coverage, but to provide Women’s Football the level of coverage it deserves.
I can’t wait to get started and get out covering games across all three divisions!”
