Severn Sport Stars of the Week – 07/09/21

Severn Sport Stars of the Week is here! In our new website feature to give recognition to the youth footballers in and around Gloucestershire for their dedication and achievements.

After taking a couple of weeks off to allow the youth tournaments to start ahead of their season beginning we have had a number of submissions this week, so let’s get cracking.

First up we have George Jones of Gloucester City U13s.

George has been playing in the age group above him and scored his first goal for the club in only his second game! George grabbed a goal in a winning effort too as City U13s beat Weston-Super-Mare 3-2 on Friday evening!!

A proud moment for the young man after all of his hard work, keep it up George!

Next we had a submission for the Abbeymead Rovers U8s Tekkers team who won their Severn Valley U8s tournament over the weekend.

In the submission they have been described as a “great young team, who have very fair and supportive coaches.”

Also Salim Aziz from the U17s took on the captains armband for the Sunday team and scored two fantastic goals in a big win!

On Twitter we also had a tweet sent to us that was sent by Dave Francis, praising both Quedgeley Wanderers and Abbeymead Girls U10s teams as they all played a fantastic match!

Over the weekend the Severn Valley YFL heled their U8-U11s tournaments with big wins for the likes of Brockworth Albion U11s

As well as Longlevens, who were one of the winners over a great weekend of youth football competition.

The final star of the week comes from the tournament in Charlie Martin of Longlevens U10s who were victorious over the weekend.

Charlie was described as being immense in a higher age group and when playing in the final was complimented by the opposing Lydney Town management for having great technique throughout the whole tournament.

Charlie is part of an exciting U10s team at Longlevens who show incredible togetherness and teamwork on the pitch and work hard for each other!

For the next week our DM’s are open. On Twitter, on Facebook and our email and all you simply need to do to put forward your star(s) of the week is tell us the following:
