Severn Sport Shield 2022 Semi Final Draw sees Slimbridge take on Saracens in opener

Slimbridge will take on Cheltenham Saracens in the opening game of the Severn Sport Shield 2022, with Longlevens hosting Gloucester City U19s in the second Semi Final.

Just over a week ago we confirmed that Slimbridge, Cheltenham Saracens and Gloucester City’s new U19s side will head to Longlevens for the 2022 edition of the shield and this weekend saw the semi final draw completed at Severn Sport HQ.

On Tuesday 12th July, 2018 hosts, Slimbridge take on 2019 shield winners Saracens at Saw Mills and it will be the first time the hosts have been drawn in semi final two.

Semi Final One (Tuesday 12th July – 19:45 kick off)

Slimbridge vs Cheltenham Saracens

Semi FInal Two (Wednesday 13th July – 19:45 kick off)

Longlevens vs Gloucester City U19s

The winners will play each other in the final on Saturday 16th July, with the losers playing in the Third Place play-off earlier in the day.

We have also confirmed in the last week that during the finals day and in between the two matches, we will be hosting an exhibition match for the refugees who are being housed in the IBIS Hotel next to Saw Mills and are currently attending football training sessions being run by Longlevens.

Ahead of the tournament in July we will be announcing our charity partner for this year’s event and we will be looking to fundraise all week long.
