Stonehouse Town booked their place in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Vase, beating Corsham Town on penalties.

After being the better side for the most part, Stonehouse secured a deserved victory in a shoot-out that saw goalkeeper, Greg Lannon, save three penalties after only being called upon to make his first meaningful save in second half stoppage time.

Stonehouse had the better chances to win the game in normal time, but were kept out by Corsham stopper Kent Kauppinen.

Ian Soule’s side will now play Mangotsfield United in the next round and despite being drawn away, due to ground maintenance for Mangoes, the tie is set to be played at the Ben’s Takeaway Stadium on Saturday 21 September (subject to change).
