LISTEN: Hartpury’s history making FA Youth Cup run ended by classy Cheltenham Town

Hartpury University bowed out of the FA Youth Cup on Thursday night, going down 3-1 to a very impressive Cheltenham Town side.

With the hosts making their first ever appearance in the First Round proper, they suffered an early setback when the highly rated Tom King slotted home after his initial effort was saved.

The Robins doubled their lead in the first half, when Harry Tustin broke into the box and fired past Ryan Smallwood after the first effort had been blocked.

But it was much better from an attacking perspective after the break for Hartpury, with Cian Fitzgerald going close, before substitute O’Rian Reid forced an effort in at the near post to set up a grand stand finish.

However Cheltenham would seal the deal late on, with 16-year old Sopuru Obieri drilling an effort past Smallwood to advance his side into the Second Round.
