Severn Sport Tipster League 2025 – Day 1 Results

The Severn Sport Tipster League is back and this year it is BIGGER and BETTER than ever before.
For the eighth year in a row, we have had 10 competitors going head-to-head in a bid to be crowned Severn Sport’s King Tipster(s) for the next 12 months.
This year, we have a league of 13 – with returning tipsters and new teams joining the league.
Today’s selected races were as follows:

So let’s see how the competitors got on!

Supreme Novices Hurdle – 13:20
- Kopek Des Bordes (4/6 Fav)
- William Munny (8/1)
- Romeo Coolio (9/2)
Non-runner: Tripoli Flyer
A decent start for a number of the competitors. All of Sweet Prince, SPM27, Hellenic Double Champs, Mr Slimbridge AFC, Bacon, Pint Please Landlord and Priday all scored 3 points for having the winner.
Top Trotters and Square Leg collected 4 points for also having Romeo Coolio place, with The Fox collecting 3 points in total as he doubled down on his antepost tip, Romeo Coolio.
Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8 score 1 point for a place, whilst Money Man Ash and Absolutely Clueless fail to score.
Arkle Trophy – 14:00
- Jango Baie
- Only By Night
Disaster for a number of tipsters as they used their Have A Punt boost on Majborough – who finished out of the places.
Mr Slimbridge AFC, Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8 and Pint Please Landlord all scored -2 points after Majborough failed to place.
Unfortunately for Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8 and SPM27, their antepost tip fails to return any points.
Ultima Handicap Chase – 14:40
- Myretown (13/2)
- The Changing Man (7/1)
- Malina Girl (14/1)
- Happygolucky (28/1)
Pulled Up: Katate Dori, Whistle Stop Tour, Richmond Lake, Broadway Boy, King Turgeon
The first big handicap of the week and absolute carnage (which was a sign of things to come!).
All of Sweet Prince, The Fox, Hellenic Double Champs, Money Man Ash, Mr Slimbridge AFC, Top Trotters, Absolutely Clueless, Pint Please Landlord, Square Leg and Priday all scored -2 points for having a pulled up horse.
Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8 did well to score 0, whilst Bacon had a place and a pulled up horse to score -1 point.
SPM27 were the big losers as both of their selections pulled up, meaning they scored -4 points.
Mares Hurdle – 15:20
- Lossiemouth (4/6 Fav)
- Jade De Grugy (5/1)
- Take No Chances (22/1)
That is more like it! Points galore!
The Fox, Hellenic Double Champs, Top Trotters, Absolutely Clueless and Priday all scored 3 points for the winner, whilst Square Leg, Pint Please Landlord and Sweet Prince used their double points boost to claim 6 points each.
Money Man Ash scored 4 points for having the winner and the third, whilst Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8 and SPM27 scored 5 points for having the straight forecast.
The big winners though were Bacon and Mr Slimbridge AFC who used their double points boost and had the forecast, meaning they collected 8 points each!
Unibet Champion Hurdle – 16:00
- Golden Ace
- Burdett Road
Faller: Constitution Hill, State Man
I mean, where do we start. What drama.
The favourite, the banker, falls and then State Man falls at the last too to give a 25/1 and 40/1 forecast in incredible scenes.
Unfortunately for some of the tipsters, what a disaster.
-2 points for Sweet Prince and Bacon who took a punt on Constitution Hill. Also scoring -2 points for Constitution Hill being their antepost tip were Square Leg, Pint Please Landlord and Mr Slimbridge AFC.
Incredibly after having a punt on their antepost tip, Absolutely Clueless and Priday get whacked with -4 points ouch!
So let’s see how the table looks after Day One:

Bacon leads the way after making use of his double points boost, narrowly ahead of Square Leg who also had a decent opening day.
Sweet Prince, Mr Slimbridge AFC and Top Trotters were let down but their minus points, with all of The Fox, Can’t Bowl. Bat at No.8, Hellenic Double Champs and SPM27 left to be slightly aggrieved with their first attempts.
A lot to do for Pint Please Landlord, Money Man Ash, Priday and Absolutely Clueless.
Check back tomorrow morning to see the selections for Day Two of the Severn Sport Tipster League!
