Check out this month’s XI below:

Goalkeeper – Alex Goode (Newent Town) – Goode put in a superb individual performance in the win over Shortwood United and was one of, if not THE reason his side secured their own win of the season so far on the day. Narrowly edges out Greg Lannon and Kane Winman, who were both on the shortlist.

Right Back – Sol Kent (Hartpury University) – Kent really impressed me during the 0-0 draw with Westfields at the end of July, and he continued that form in the win over Tuffley. A very, very handy player and looks set to have a good season.

Centre Back – Josh Roney (Hartpury University) – Roney was nominated for an award at the End of Season Awards, so I was familiar with his game come the start of the season. He has been wearing the armband when Kian Kang hasn’t played and has looked very, very good. A good defender, who looks so assured and heads everything – a great combination.

Centre Back – Rich Thwaite (Stonehouse Town) – Talking of heading everything, that was Thwaite vs Corsham. He was a key reason as to why Greg Lannon didn’t have any saves to make until second half stoppage time. He stood out for myself and Jamie Reid on co-commentary and fully deserved the win on the day and his spot in the team.

Left Back – Star Allen (Cirencester Town Ladies) – Star by name, star by nature. Allen is an exceptional talent for someone so young. One of the stand-out players during the Severn Sport Trophy and with this being her first full season in adult football, I am excited to see how she does for Ciren.

Midfield – Jas Hart (Cheltenham Civil Service Ladies) – Jas Hart won the Player of the Final in the Severn Sport Trophy and her performances were very, very good over both matches – not just the final. She leads her team by example and helps Maxine and Simon by being a great team player. Very impressive.

Midfield – Joe Hanks (Gloucester City) – Hanks has had a fantastic start to the season, scoring goals, creating chances and inspiring his side to wins in the league cup. Hanks came on the breakfast show a couple of weeks ago and said how much getting Gloucester City promoted means to him and his performance levels so far back that up.

Midfield – Riley McGregor (Hartpury University) – McGregor has started the season very well – producing high quality performances for Hartpury and now being dual-registered with Gloucester City and to be honest, you can see why City have signed him up. Confident, capable on the ball and can create as well as score himself. One to watch this season, for sure.

Right Wing – Theo Clayson (Slimbridge) – Theo has had an incredible opening month and that doesn’t even include his miss of the season contender vs Tuffley. Ironically, it seems like it is the only chance Theo hasn’t taken so far this season! He has threated to step up in front of goal for the last two seasons, so I am not surprised to see him doing so well.

Left Wing- Kaydee Wheeler (Cheltenham Civil Service Ladies) – Following the Semi Final in the Severn Sport Trophy, Wheeler told me to get the Player of the Final trophy ready for her and I absolutely love the confidence. She has a great attitude and as she showed in the tournament, she has the ability to back it up!

Striker – Mary-Ann Gittings (Cheltenham Civil Service Ladies) – Gittings was fantastic in the tournament. She was clinical in front of goal and a constant threat in both games. If she can find that sort of form consistently, then Civvy will have a great season.

Here is the XI in full (via a brand new, fancy graphic):

The subs bench includes 7 players to impress over the month and in full, they are below:

Jorrell Sanniola (Stonehouse Town)
Shannon King (Cirencester Town Ladies)
Cam Williams (Longlevens)
Jack Spark (Tewkesbury Town)
Jack Beardsell (Longlevens)
Greg Lannon (Stonehouse Town)
Lorcan Sheehan (Tewkesbury Town)

This month’s team will be managed by Barnwood United’s Craig Salter, after his side started their league campaign with five wins from five.
