Lydney Reserves, Longlevens Reserves and Dursley Town extend leads in Reg Davis Cup

In Saturday’s Reg Davis Cup group fixtures all three of Lydney Town Reserves, Dursley Town and Longlevens Reserves have opened up or extended their leads at the top of Groups A, C and D respectively.

Kerien Austin grabbed a hattrick to add to an Adam Philp brace and goals from Aaron Nash and Chris Lindsay as Dursley claimed an 8-0 win over Leonard Stanley to now lead Group C by six points, although they have now played one game more than the chasing pack.

However, with another high score under their belt, Dursley now boast a +21 goal difference – a whole 13 goals better off than the next highest, second placed Chalford.

In the midweek fixtures in Group C Taverners host Dursley on Tuesday night, giving the leaders a chance to go nine points before Chalford play at Leonard Stanley on Wednesday night.

Also on Wednesday Charfield host Cam Bulldogs and Kings Stanley host Berkeley Town.

Longlevens Reserves moved four points clear at the top of Group D after beating FC Lakeside 2-0 thanks to goals from Martin Smith and Matt Emmett.

Dale Rawlins’ men took advantage as Abbeymead beat 2nd placed Cheltenham Civil Service 3-0 to move level on points with their opponents on Saturday.

Longlevens Reserves host Abbeymead on Wednesday night and could end the night seven points clear.

Elsewere Barnwood United were beaten 3-2 by Winchcombe Town and Bredon vs Stonehouse Town Reserves was postponed.

On Wednesday night Cheltenham Civil Service host Barnwood, Stonehouse Town Reserves host FC Lakeside and Bredon travel to Winchcombe Town.

In Group C Lydney Town Reserves won in the late kick off as they claimed a 3-2 win over Staunton & Corse and now boast a played 7 won 7 record with a plus 17 goal difference.

Harrow Hill inflicted the first defeat of the competition on Woolaston, winning 2-1 to move up to 2nd.

English Bicknor won 5-0 against Lydbrook Athletic to move up to 4th and Broadwell Amateurs Reserves moved up to 5th with a 1-0 win over Whitecroft.

Wednesday’s fixtures see Broadwell host English Bicknor, Harrow Hill welcome Whitecroft, Lydney Town Reserves head to Lydbrook Athletic and Woolaston host Staunton & Corse as they try to get back to winning ways.

In Group B Smiths Barometrics saw their lead cut to just a point after drawing 1-1 at home to Brockworth Albion.

Charlton Rovers moved up to second with a 3-1 win over Bibury, with Brockworth back in 3rd.

Falcons are back in fourth after a 0-0 draw with Upton St Leonards whilst Andoversford claimed a 2-1 win over Frampton United Reserves to leapfrog Frampton into 5th.

In the midweek games Bibury host Falcons, Upton St Leonards host Andoversford and leaders Smiths head to Frampton United Reserves whilst it’s 3rd vs 2nd as Charlton Rovers head to Brockworth Albion.
