Sam’s Section: Hartpury’s historic FA Vase semi-final awaits whilst Hellenic Premier survival showdown gets underway

What a weekend of action awaits our Gloucestershire teams with history being made and survival needs to be fought for.
Hellenic League Premier champions elect, Hartpury University are in FA Vase semi-final action whist Longlevens, Cirencester Town and Lydney Town all fight for their survival.
HISTORY IN THE VASE
Well Hartpury may be crowned Hellenic Premier champions on Thursday night if Roman Glass fail to beat Fairford Town following the sides 4-0 win over Thornbury Town on Tuesday night.
But their focus will be mainly on their historic FA Vase semi-final first leg tie away at Whitstable Town on Saturday as a trip to Wembley looms.
If Hartpury make it to the Vase final they will be the first Gloucestershire side since 1982 fight for the trophy under the famous arch.
Hartpury have conceded just once in the competition so far in their five games whilst scoring six up the other end.
Whitstable Town of the Southern Counties East League, have advanced past four of their five rounds by a single goal and needed penalties in the fourth round to get this far.

SURVIVAL SHOWDOWNS
Hellenic Premier survival heats right up as Cirencester (16th), Lydney (17th), Longlevens (18th) and Malmesbury Victoria (19th) all face off against one another.
Lydney host Cirencester as both sides will be looking to pull away from the relegation zone with three all important points.
Cirencester are winless in their last four league games, but cup success could be an extra boost heading into this crunch match as they reached the final of the Wiseman Floodlit Cup.
Lydney are the inform team losing just one of their last five games and head into this game off the back of a stunning 2-0 victory over Corsham Town.
Elsewhere Longlevens will look to put daylight between them a relegation threatened Malmesbury when they head to the Flying Monk Ground on Saturday.
Levens could open a 13 point gap on Malmesbury, who still have seven games to play, but Levens are on a run of two straight wins whilst Malmesbury have won just one of their last six games.
