Hellenic League Cups: Draws for January as Premier Division sides enter the competitions
January brings with it the next rounds of the Hellenic League’s Floodlit and Challenge Cups and as you’d expect, there are some tasty ties ahead of us.
With the Premier Division sides joining both competitions, there are chances to face unfamiliar sides in the Hellenic’s own competitions.
In the Marsh (UHL) Challenge Cup, the competition is at it’s Third Round, with Cheltenham Saracens, Gloucester City Development, Newent Town, Tytherington Rocks and Stonehouse Town amongst the sides who have been knocked out in the early rounds.
The Third Round serves up Tuffley Rovers vs Shortwood United in the stand-out local tie, with the games set to be played on Saturday 11 January.
There are trips on the road for Longlevens, Cirencester Town, Brimscombe & Thrupp, Slimbridge, Fairford Town and Hartpury University, who play Abingdon United, Highworth Town, Pershore Town, Ludlow Town, Mangotsfield United and Malmesbury Victoria, respectively.
Lydney Town have the tough visit of Clanfield 85, whilst Division Two West side Bishops Cleeve Development have a huge task at home to Premier promotion chasing, Roman Glass St George.
In the Second Round of the Wiseman Lighting Floodlit Cup, Brimscombe & Thrupp vs Cheltenham Saracens and Stonehouse Town vs Tuffley Rovers are the two all-Gloucestershire ties.
Longlevens, Lydney Town, Hartpury University, Cirencester Town and Slimbridge have all been drawn at home, against Thornbury Town, Roman Glass St George, Hereford Pegasus, Kidlington Reserves and Corsham Town, respectively, with these ties booked in for the week commencing 20 January 2025.
Elsewhere in the competition, Fairford Town head to Abingdon United, whilst Gloucester City Development will travel to Carterton.
