Tredworth Tigers have announced a trio of experienced signings as they look to bolster their squad ahead of tough run over the next six weeks.

With the Reg Davis Cup final against Tewkesbury Town and league games Rodborough Old Boys, Dursley Town and Longlevens Reserves to come in the next month or so, Tredworth have added Ryan Dobbins and James Bowers from Newent Town, as well as Josh Hergest from Gloster Rovers to their ranks.

Dobbins, who has scored goals from the Gloucestershire County League up to the Hellenic Premier over the last few seasons, is a particularly eye-catching acquisition, whilst Bowers offers Hellenic League experience.

Hergest caught the eye for Ramblers last season, making the Severn Sport Team of the Month for May following his performance in their Stroud League Cup Final.

The midfielder joins from Stroud League side Gloster Rovers, having joined the club after Ramblers folded over the summer.

Tredworth Tigers Player/Co-Manager Lee Smith told Severn Sport that Tredworth needed to move following recent injuries and is delighted to have the trio on board.

“Dixie [Adam Dix] and I had a chat after the Brockworth game,” said Smith. “We have a good squad, but injuries and circumstances meant we needed to act in the right way and be proactive.

Most players are at clubs at the moment, but results and managers leaving can suddenly see players become available and we knew we had to act fast.

For me Ryan Dobbins is going to be a big player at this level and will get goals, but his work rate will also be key- plus he is the kind of character to go alongside the other forwards at the club.

Same with Bowers, he is a great character to bring in. He was won the Hellenic Two with Fairford and after trying it at Newent, it didn’t work out, so we are very happy to bring him in – again, another great guy to have in the changing room.

Hergy [Hergest] is a local lad and should have been playing this level for a number of years, but was always loyal to Ramblers – which you have to respect. We tried to sign him a number of times, so I am delighted to have him here now as I know what he is capable of,” Smith added.

Tredworth will be looking to bounce back following the defeat at Brockworth last weekend, this Saturday, when they host Staunton & Corse, before they head to Gala Wilton in a tough tie in the County Cup.
