Sam’s Section: Gloucestershire Northern Senior League summit fight continues with Tewkesbury, Whaddon and Dursley in action
The temperatures might be dropping but the footballing action in Gloucestershire definitely isn’t, especially at the top of the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League.
With the top four of the GNSL Division One all in action, and two up against each other, let’s take a delve into their fixtures this weekend of course weather dependent.
Dursley Town v Brockworth Albion (The Rec, Saturday November 30th, KO 2pm)
A rare weekend off with Forest Green Rovers means I’ll get the chance to head to The Rec for what deems to be a tasty fixture between Dursley Town and Brockworth Albion.
Dursley, without a game last Saturday, are still thriving off their latest result on Saturday November 16th which saw Karl Nash’s side end Tewkesbury Town’s 100% start to the season with a tight 3-2 victory.
Nash’s side remain unbeaten in their last four games and currently sit third two points off Whaddon United in second and five off the leaders Tewkesbury.
Brockworth do sit just a place behind Dursley in fourth but are eight points off their opponents hoping a fourth successive win could continue to steer their charge up the table.

Hardwicke v Tewkesbury Town (Green Lane, Saturday November 30th, KO 2pm)
Tewkesbury got themselves back to winning ways last weekend following their first league defeat of the season to Dursley, beating Charfield 3-1.
Tewkesbury Town remain top of the tree and will be heading into December, unless a complete defensive collapse happens, boasting a three point gap and a far superior goal difference to chasers, Whaddon.
Hardwicke have found some improved form going unbeaten in their last two games but remain 10th lingering six points over the drop zone heading into this weekend.
Whaddon United v Bredon (Whaddon Recreation Ground, Saturday November 30th, KO 2pm)
The inform team of the GNSL Div One, Whaddon will be hoping to go level at the top with a 14th successive victory when they host fellow in form side, Bredon.
Whaddon are currently unbeaten in over three months with their last defeat coming all the way back on August 17th at the hands on Tewkesbury.
A win could see them go level on 36 points if Tewkesbury slipped to defeat, but Whaddon do have a game in hand on their title rivals.
But they face a stern test against Bredon who lie sixth in the league, currently unbeaten in their last six games with their last defeat coming back in September in a Worcestershire County Cup tie.
