Check out this month’s XI below:

Goalkeeper – Luke Merchant (Tuffley Rovers) – Merch put in an incredible performance in the win over Pershore Town. In a month that saw Severn Sport see a number of fine goalkeeping performances, his topped them all. He is the best goalkeeper in the Hellenic Prem right now and is back to his form in Cleeve’s title winning campaign.

Centre Back – Harry Knight (Broadwell Amateurs) – Harry’s performance against Chalford was superb, and then when you factor in he was playing with a broken foot and suddenly the nearly 70 minutes he played was even more impressive. He played a major role in his side’s win.

Centre Back – Carys Lowley (Forest Green Rovers Women) – Lowley thundered a header in against AEK Boco Ladies and played her part in a wonderful team performance on the day. A goal-scoring defender usually sees them make the TOTM and deservedly so.

Centre Back – Claire Gabb (Gloucester City Women Reserves) – Gabb has been stunning this month. Three wins in the month in front of Severn Sport and they different performances from her. Two clean sheets, two games that saw her able to bring the ball forward and help build the play and a game where she had to dig in deep and be an example to her teammates against Southmead. Versatile, yet effective.

Right Wing Back:- Marley Johnson (Hardwicke/Slimbridge U18s) – I had never seen Marley play and then saw him play two 90 minutes in two days, putting in a great performance for Hardwicke in the Reg Davis Cup Semi Final and then putting in a goal-scoring effort for Slimbridge U18s in the FA Youth Cup 24 hours later. A bright talent.

Midfield – Mirry Smith (Gloucester City Women Reserves) – Mirry Smith plays at such a consistent level you almost take for granted just how good she is. Countless assists throughout the first month of the season has helped her side to five wins out of five. Disappointed she wore gloves on Sunday though, it’s still September!

Midfield – Jack Smith (Slimbridge) – I was told that Jack Smith turned down a move to Roman Glass this month and I am glad to hear it! Local football is better with players like Smith in it and he is proving to be a massive asset for Slimbridge, as they look to try and make the Hellenic Prem play-offs this season. A bright, bright future ahead of him.

Midfield – Junior Kposowa (Gloucester City U18s) – Gloucester re-introduced their U18s this season and already, Junior Kposowa is a player who is impressing. He has been one of the U18s who also turns out for Gala in the County League and he is putting in some quality showings. Definitely one to watch this season, for sure!

Left Wing Back – Jam Dare (Longlevens Reserves) – Jam Dare is some player. Scoring goals, creating chances and just being a major player in the GNSL for Levens Reserves. Two great individual showings against Charfield and then Dursley sees him stroll into this month’s team.

Striker- Zoe Gabb (Gloucester City Women Reserves) – Zoe Gabb joins her sister in the Team of the Month, holding off pressure form the likes of Kate Ambrey and Liam Harper. Gabb has had to show different aspects to her game and not just scoring goals. Gabb has had to be more of a “complete player” and has shown that with her hold-up play, playing in midfield to protect the defence and even out on the wing. A handy player to have in the squad.

Striker – Jamal Lawrence (Fairford Town) – Jamal scored a hattrick against Reading City and didn’t even get Man of the Match – but his influence on his team is incomparable. He is the main man and he continues to be the catalyst in Fairford’s FA Vase run and quest for the Hellenic Prem play-offs. .

Here is the XI in full (via a brand new, fancy graphic):

The subs bench includes 7 players to impress over the month and in full, they are below:

Hattie Jones (Forest Green Rovers Women)
Kate Ambrey (Gloucester City Women Reserves)
Shamar Thomas (Slimbridge U18s)
Macaulay Herbert (Tuffley Rovers)
Liam Harper (Slimbridge)
Theo Browne (Dursley Town)
Jade Turner (Longlevens Ladies)

This month’s team will be managed by Bishops Cleeve Manager Paul Collicutt, who saw his side beat Torquay United and take Chesham United to a replay in the FA Cup.
