Check out this month’s XI below:

Goalkeeper – Phil Chovanec (Brockworth Albion) – It is sometimes hard to really compare U18s football to Men’s and players who do well in U18s football don’t always step up into adult football and flourish. Phil put in a superb display against Dursley and really showed the benefits of a young man playing in such a tough, hard-hitting league.

Right Back – Sol Kent (Hartpury University) – Sol has been one of my favourite players to watch this season. He is one of, if not the best right back I’ve seen throughout the campaign. He stood out for Sam in their win over Thornbury and has had a great month for the Champions-elect.

Left Back:- Jack Byard (Longlevens) – Byard has had a fantastic month, without standing out in every game. He has played his part in three wins on the spin for his side to all but secure their safety – helping keep two clean sheets and even scoring away at Cirencester.

Centre Back – Charlie Hitchings (Slimbridge) – When Slimbridge hosted Cirencester this month, they went into the game in awful form – what followed was a fantastic defensive display, with Hitchings leading the back line incredibly well.

Centre Back – Matt Bower (Bishops Cleeve) – Bower is a giant defender and put in a giant display in the win over Bashley, scoring and keeping a clean sheet on the day – impressing our man Alfie RIchmond in the process.

Centre Back – Josh Boaden (Brockworth Albion) –During the win for Brockworth, Boaden was outstanding and would have been Man of the Match if it wasn’t for Chovenac. He simply cleared everything and didn’t stop talking to his teammates. It was hard to not be impressed.

Midfield – Cam Williams (Longlevens) – Williams had an outstanding month. Scoring in a Man of the Match display against Fairford and producing impressive performances against both Brimscombe & Thrupp and Malmesbury, his strong end to the season continues – crucially for his side.

Midfield – Lewis Vye (Longlevens U18s) – During March we saw a number of U18s matches and Vye played his part in three entertaining fixtures. Scoring in the County Cup Semi Final against Dursley, being one of the better players in the Severn Sport Cup defeat to Sarries and putting in another good showing in the league fixture at Saw Mills. You can see why Frampton United rate him so highly.

Forward – Joey Spill (Dursley Town U18s) – Spill has been fantastic all season and against Longlevens he put in the near perfect striker’s performance. He set the tone with his goal and just how hard he worked for his side. He was one of the players on the day that didn’t deserve to be on the losing side and the justice was that he wasn’t.

Forward – Ash Bird (Brockworth Albion) – I love seeing Ash Bird scoring goals, but he is really showing some terrific form over the last couple of seasons. Life was tough for him at Tuffley and since moving to Albion he has grown into being a key member of the GNSL side. Took his chances when they came against Dursley and really made life tough for their defence.

Forward – Kieran Bennett (Slimbridge/U18s) – Bennett is another young man who had a fantastic month and also plying his trade on the weekend’s in the County League. He is a great prospect with an exciting future. He showed me something different in the win over Cirencester and again it all ties into how good U18 players then make that step up into men’s football. A quality young forward.

Here is the XI in full (via a brand new, fancy graphic):

The subs bench includes 7 players to impress over the month and in full, they are below:

Jay Wells (Cheltenham Saracens U18s)
Kane Winman (Longlevens)
Maggie Neall (Gloucester City Women)
Henry Miles (Cheltenham Saracens U18s)
Ben Baxter (Hartpury University)
Mike Symons (Lydney Town)
Billy Mann (Dursley Town/U18s)
