Severn Sport Shield 2024 – All you need to know
This week sees the 2024 Severn Sport Shield kick-off and with everything set, here is all you need to know ahead of Tuesday night.
All roads lead to Stonehouse Town’s Ben’s Takeaway Stadium for this season’s games, with the Nest ready to welcome spectators and plenty of exciting football to be played.
With the weather being so predictable over the last couple of weeks and with that set to continue, the decision was made to move the Semi-Final games forward to limit the potential use of floodlights at the ground.
So, here is how the Semi-Finals look:
Tuesday 16 July – Stonehouse Town vs Tuffley Rovers – 19:15 kick off
Wednesday 17 July – Cirencester Town vs Forest Green Rovers U18s – 19:00 kick off
After a late re-arrangement to the schedule, we are back up to four games this season – with the Third Place Play-Off and Final both taking place at Stonehouse, on Saturday 20 July.
Saturday 20 July – Third Place Play-Off – 12:00 kick off
Saturday 20 July – Final – 15:30 kick off
The rules for the games are as they always are: straight to penalties in the event of a draw in 90 minutes, all four sides can make unlimited substitutions and weather dependent, drinks breaks will be encouraged.
Elsewhere, Severn Sport are pleased to confirm that admission prices remain the same, £5 adults, £3 concessions and U16s free – including the Saturday, where we offer two games of football for £5!
So come on down to the Ben’s Takeaway Stadium next week to enjoy some great local football, where one team will be presented with the Severn Sport Shield, and one player will be presented with the new Player of The Tournament trophy, sponsored by Severn Sparks!
