The winner is presented with the award and an image of them receiving the POTM trophy is then shared on Severn Sport’s social media during the following month.

Some of last season’s winners included Longlevens winger Shiyak Sutherland, Gloucester City Women Development Captain, Nicole Lewis, Slimbridge winger Rudi McKinnon and Chalford duo Ben Minnican and Luke Benneyworth.

The first Player of the Month of the season was Hartpury University’s Riley McGregor, whilst Claire Gabb of Gloucester City Women Reserves won the award for September and Longlevens defender Sam Kelly won the award for October.

Joe Wright (Shortwood United) – In a month that saw so many great goalkeeping performances, Wright just gets the gloves as his role in earning his side three points at Stonehouse was crucial. A great keeper, part of a side going in the right direction.

Ilarna Nche (Whitchurch Ladies) – I was really impressed with Nche in the win over Longlevens, scoring goals and being as energetic in the last minute than she was in the first. On such a difficult day, conditions wise, Nche just didn’t stop and deserved to win the game for her own efforts alone.

Jacob Rodgers (Slimbridge) – The left back slot was a straight shoot-out between Sam Kelly and Jacob Rodgers and whilst Kelly scored two during the month, I went with Rodgers to just highlight how good a month he has had – even though Slimbridge have struggled for consistency.

The Severn Sport Player of the Month will be back next month – so check out our social media throughout the month to find out who won this month’s trophy!
