Prolific Price locked in as Centurions target play-off push

There are still 13 league games to go in Cirencester Town’s season and prolific striker Harlie Price is hoping his goals can help see his side maintain their play-off push this term.
We are only at mid-January and Price has found the net 28 times from his 27 appearances, including two hattricks in his last four outings – making him one of the deadliest marksmen this season in any division.
Price went goalless in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Longlevens, but the striker told Severn Sport that the only thing that mattered was getting the points against a good side in red-hot form themselves.
“It was a great win away from home against a side who going into Saturday were the in form team in the league,” Price admitted.
“You can see why Longlevens are just outside the play-offs aswell, they are a really tough team to play against and carry threats going forward.
The pitch on Saturday was heavy and difficult to play on, but testament to their grounds staff for getting it on when others were off due to the conditions – it wasn’t pretty, but it was so crucial to pick up the three points,” added Price.
Cirencester have won four of their last five league matches, with wins against Cinderford Town, Mangotsfield United, Cribbs and Longlevens ever side of the Festive period – with just a defeat at Royal Wootton Bassett Town the only blemish on their recent run.
With plenty of points still left to play for, Price believes the Centurions have more than enough to maintain their good form and finish in the top five this season.
“100% I think we are more than capable of getting into the playoffs. I think if you consider how slow we started, to where we are now it’s chalk and cheese,” said Price.
“Looking only at the league, in the last 15-20 games we have been solid and picked up a lot of points. Obviously there are lots of games still to be played, but ultimately I personally think it’s within our capabilities to be there come April!” Price added.

Price was a stand-out transfer in the summer, with a number of clubs chasing his signature for the 2025/26 season. The former Brimscombe & Thrupp striker decided to call the Corinium Stadium his home for the campaign and it is turning out to be a match made in heaven!
With the striker boasting more than a goal a game at this stage, Price tells Severn Sport that finding happiness in his personal life has benefitted his form on the pitch.
“It’s been a really good season for me personally, but I must admit the style of football really suits my game.
We have some really quality players throughout the squad and I think they trust me to put the ball in the net. They do give me a lot of chances to score the goals I do.
Also, I felt last season I ended really strongly and I just carried on that positive momentum going into this season.
I think the key is being really happy in my personal life it’s given me the freedom to fully lock in to my football again!” Price added.
The next run of games for Cirencester will put their top five credentials to the test, with four of their next six fixtures against sides within three places either side of them in the table and Price believes the momentum the Centurions can build could be crucial for their aspirations.
“Momentum is everything in football and that’s why Saturday felt so big. We could have easily stuttered after our loss to Bassett, but we bounced back with two important wins now and we must focus on the next one.
We are very good at taking it one game at a time, so we are focused only on Westfields on Saturday and hopefully picking up another three points to keep the pressure on,” Price said.
