LISTEN: Young Swans produce impressive display in win against Gloucester City U18s
Slimbridge U18s produced an impressive performance to beat Gloucester City U18s 2-0 on Friday night, moving to the top of the table in the process.
Both sides went into the game unbeaten in the league this season and from pretty much the first kick off, it only looked like one winner.
James Tainton tapped home the opener, before Alfie Mann squandered two glorious chances to add to the lead before half time.
The first half saw Slimbridge dominate and were unfortunate to go into half time only one goal to the good – but soon after the restart, Mann smashed in his deserved goal to give the Swans a two goal cushion that looked too much for City to claw back.
In the end, Kieran Brice-Ingles’ side saw the game out very comfortably and more onto a league game against Bishops Cleeve on Tuesday night.
For Gloucester, they will look to get back to winning ways on Monday night, when they head to Longlevens U18s.
