Slimbridge moved up to second in the Hellenic League Premier Division table, with a 3-0 win over a lacklustre Tuffley Rovers, on Tuesday night.

In a poor quality first half, Joe Shutt’s free kick separated the two sides at the break – before Slimbridge improved slightly after half time to run out comfortable winners.

Alex Bell, who switched from right back to midfield for the second half, fired home after Theo Browne’s deflected cross in from the right.

Substitute Jacob Rodgers guided a cross into the bottom corner for the third as the Swans eased to victory and inflicted a fourth defeat in their last five for Rovers.

Slimbridge are back in action on Saturday, as they welcome Corsham Town in the Challenge Cup, whilst Tuffley are next in action next Tuesday night – when they head to Cheltenham Saracens in the County Cup.
