This week saw the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League’s AGM, with the 2025/26 constitution and Reg Davis Cup draw confirmed for the new season.

The AGM notes shed a little light on the on-going County League promotion debacle as well, with Tewkesbury Town confirmed as promoted from the GNSL.

Gala Wilton & Cheltenham Civil Service have been relegated into the league, and will take their place in Division One for the 2025/26 season.

Stonehouse Town Reserves and Falcons have been promoted from Division Two after finishing in the top two, however due to two Gloucester based sides in Gala and Civvy coming out of the County League, Barnwood United have been denied promotion despite finishing third.

Hardwicke, Rodborough Old Boys and Smiths Barometrics have been relegated to Division Two, where they are joined by Fintan, Wickwar Wanderers and Mitcheldean, who all won their respective feeder leagues last season.

The one interesting observation is that Division Two will consist of 17 teams, instead of the original 16 – this is due to an issue caused by Berkeley Town being found guilty of fielding ineligible players in two fixtures last season.

One of these fixtures saw Winchcombe Town awarded three points for their defeat to Berkeley, which would have seen Bream Amateurs fall into the bottom four and be subject to relegation.

The league stated in their notes that due to Bream then being subject to relegation due to no fault of their own, the decision was ultimately made to run the division with 17 teams.
