Gloucester City bolster attack with Bristol Manor Farm forward and are interested in midfielder
Gloucester City have secured the signing of Bristol Manor Farm forward Owen Brain, the Southern League side have announced.
On Thursday evening, Manor Farm confirmed on their website that Brain, who has scored 17 times in all competitions this season, had moved to the Tiger Turf Stadium for the rest of the 2023/24 campaign.
In the post on the Manor Farm website, Manager Lee Lashenko admits that whilst he is sad to see Brain leave, he is looking forward to see the former Merthyr Town man develop for the rest of City’s National League North season.
Brain joins Gloucester for their final 10 league games of the season and City will be hoping he can help them pull off a miraculous survival bid.
The Tigers currently sit in 23rd position in the National League North table and find themselves five points adrift and having played as many as three more matches than some of the sides around them in the league.
Severn Sport understands that Gloucester are also interested in signing Josh Barlow, a midfielder currently at Hellenic Premier side, Longlevens.
Barlow has previously played for Shrewsbury Town, before joining Banbury United at the start of this campaign.
Weston-super-Mare have also been monitoring the centre midfielder.
Gloucester have also announced the departure of Jack Tolley, after a short time with the club.
Next up for Mike Cook’s side is a tough trip to play-off chasers, Alfreton Town, on Saturday afternoon.
