Gloucester City vs Forest Green Rovers – Preview interviews

Good morning/afternoon/evening and welcome to another special preview post of the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round tie between Gloucester City and Forest Green Rovers, which will take place this Saturday (25th October). We’re very excited for this fixture here at SevernSport, but not because Ryan Butler is back on commentary, no no no. We’re excited because Saturday’s match will be the first competitive game between the two sides since 1998. The teams have met since then, but only in county cup and pre-season games (the most recent ending in a 5-3 win for Forest Green in the 2014 pre-season.

Here at SevernSport we cover all of Gloucester City’s home matches live and in full with our in depth coverage, and for the first time this weekend we shall be broadcasting from 2pm until 5pm. A whole 3 hours of in depth and banter filled commentary! What more could you ask for on a Saturday afternoon?

What’s that I hear you ask? You want more than that? Well I thought you might have done and so on Thursday, I braved the freezing cold conditions and made the short trip up to Hartpury College where Gloucester City train. “So what? You watched them train, big deal.” Fear not dear reader, for I was not just there to watch them train. I was there to interview the Gloucester City players in a bid to whet your appetites. Yeah we’re good to you at SevernSport!

So there you have it! The thoughts of the Gloucester City players ahead of what is being dubbed ‘El Glosico’ – after all, it’s the two biggest non-league teams in Gloucestershire locking horns in what will surely be a hotly contested match.
