Brockworth, Martin, Logan-Giles & Mabbett latest nominees in End of Season Awards
Brockworth Albion, their Manager, Jamie Martin, English Bicknor boss Ian Logan-Giles and Abbeymead Rovers Gary Mabbett have been shortlisted in the End of Season Awards.
Every year Severn Sport looks to recognise all of those players, managers, clubs and individuals who make grassroots football in Gloucestershire special!
Cup double winners, Brockworth, have had another positive season under Jamie Martin and after winning both the Reg Davis Cup and GFA Senior Amateur Cup both they and Martin have made the shortlists – with the team up for Team of the Season and Martin nominated for Manager of the Season.
Martin rounds off that shortlist with English Bicknor manager Ian Logan-Giles and Abbeymead Rovers boss Gary Mabbett.
Abbeymead, like Brockworth, won their league cup and County Cup finals to secure a double, with ‘Mead fans serenading their manager at Shortwood United after their Stroud League Cup success at the start of May.
Logan-Giles joined Bicknor in a tough position, but steered his side to safety and now brings a sense of promise to the GNSL Div One outfit for next season.

Speaking about the latest nominees to come completely from the public nominations, Butler had this to say:
“Jamie Martin will be one of the most popular nominees this season and it is fully deserved. Brockworth were fighting for silverware on three fronts and whilst they ran out of games to be in the title race at the end, a good cup double highlights another successful season for the Badgers.
Ian has performed a minor miracle with Bicknor to see them go from a couple of points at the bottom of the GNSL Division One table, to survival. Hopefully they can kick on next season!
Gary received a number of nominations after a positive season with Abbeymead. Again another side who have lifted silverware and only just missed out on play-offs in Stroud Div Two. It feels like Gary’s side will be favourites for league success next term.”
Check back tomorrow morning when we will be announcing the next batch of nominees in this year’s End of Season Awards!
