Cheltenham Town Ladies, Liddicot & Yussef nominated in End of Season awards 21/22

Cheltenham Town Ladies, Slimbridge U18s striker Jack Liddicot and Tuffley Rovers U18s Captain Demi Yussef are the latest nominees in the Severn Sport End of Season Awards 2021/22.

Yesterday we confirmed that Longlevens’ Joe Westrip, Gloucester City’s Lucas Tomlinson and Cheltenham Saracens defender Tom Hoskins were shortlisted for Signing of the season.

Cheltenham Town Ladies are nominated in the Team of the Season category, sponsored by Severn Signs after lifting the FA Women’s National League Division One South West league title and claiming the county cup back in April.

Both Jack Liddicot and Demi Yussef are up for the Jamie Hyett Award for U18s players in the Cheltenham Youth Floodlit League, after impressive seasons for Slimbridge U18s and Tuffley Rovers U18s respectively.

During the season both players picked up the AthElite Sports Player of the Month Award along the way.

Severn Sport’s Ryan Butler has given his thoughts regarding the latest nominees for the 2021/22 awards:

This batch is final batch of nominations in the closed categories for the End of Season Awards and they are strong nominees.

Cheltenham Town Ladies had a fantastic season and achieved an incredible double. Whilst the Women’s National League isn’t one of our leagues that we cover, it’s been great to see how well they are doing and they deserve the recognition.

Jack Liddicot is nominated after scoring 27 goals in 27 games for Slimbridge U18s this season and he has looked impressive throughout this season. Next season could be a big one for him.

Demi Yussef was an easy nomination after how good of a role model and leader he has been for his side. Tuffley have given Demi the chance to play men’s football for both the Devs and the First Team and he doesn’t look out of place – which is the biggest compliment you can give an U18s player making that transition.

Check back on as we will be announcing nominees for the End of Season Awards 21/22 EVERY DAY IN MAY!
