Sam’s Section: Easter hunt for play-offs and survival in busy bank holiday weekend
We have a basket full of fixtures to mark the Easter weekend in and Gloucestershire so let’s hop right in.
The Hellenic League is where we shall start as the play-off race heats up this coming week kicking off on Saturday.
Thornhill Park hosts a vital third versus fourth clash as Slimbridge welcome Royal Wootton Bassett.
The Swans will be looking to get one step closer to securing a play-off position whilst also hoping they can end March unbeaten.
Adam Coyle and Tom Deakin’s side come into this clash unbeaten in their last five whilst their visitors have only won two of their last six.
Bassett fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to title favourites Worcester City on Tuesday night which hands the Swans an extra incentive to potentially go four points behind Saturday’s opposition with a win.
But the Swans will have one eye over their shoulder as they hope play-off rivals Fairford Town and Cinderford Town slip up in their clashes this weekend.
Fairford play host to struggling Thornbury Town in their final game of the season, whilst Cinderford move from the Causeway Stadium to the TigerTurf Stadium to fulfil their clash with title chasing Corsham Town.

Now to League Two where Forest Green Rovers face an Easter double header in their fight to stay in the football league.
Saturday saw Steve Cotterill’s side fall to a 2-0 defeat away to Doncaster Rovers and fall to the foot of the table but remain just one point from safety.
This Easter weekend sees Rovers take on two promotion chasing teams in Stockport County and Crewe Alexandra.
Stockport, who currently sit second and could go top with a win, travel to The New Lawn on Friday afternoon for the first since 2012.
It’s then a quick turnaround for Rovers who take a trip to Cheshire for their clash with promotion chasing Crewe Alexandra on Monday.
