Check out this month’s XI below:

Goalkeeper – Joe Poole (Longlevens U18s) – Poole was impressive in both the win vs Studley and Gloucester City U18s and showed composure and confidence to come and claim crosses into his box and had no chance with all three goals he conceded – two long range efforts (which he got a hand to one) and a close range effort after a deflection. He narrowly edges out Jared Thompson who made a number of shoot-out saves against Hartpury.

Centre Back -Sean Monday (Dursley Town) – Three centre backs make the team and the first is the Man of the Match from the Reg Davis Cup final. A defensive performance that saw him kick, clear and head everything and alongside the rest of the back four was a real catalyst for Dursley to lift the trophy.

Centre Back:- Dan Lander (Tuffley Rovers Reserves) – October saw Butler saw four “Goal of the season” contenders, so all four HAD to make the team. Lander was superb on the night against Abbeymead and his Vincent Kompany-like strike was the cherry on top of the cake.

Centre Back – Ryan Ponting (Slimbridge) – Similar to Monday, Ponting has produced a number of kick, clear and head everything performances and has cemented himself as a real asset at Thornhill Park. Ponting has also secured his second appearance in the Team of the Month this season.

Right Wing Back – Oli Billings (Dursley Town) – Billings went down with a head injury in the Reg Davis Cup final and needed to return to action in a Terry Butcher style bandage and battled on for nearly 75 minutes, if that isn’t Team of the Month worthy then we might as well all go home. A warrior of a performance.

Midfield – Logan Weyman (Dursley Town) – There have been times where I have watched Weyman play and the performance wasn’t matching the hype I had heard about him. His performance in the final was the moment where I sat there and thought ‘here he is’. For a young player to go into a cup final and grab it by the scruff of the neck, have the confidence try little flicks and holding off his marker to retain possession and really stand out on the night, it really caught the eye.

Midfield – Cam Williams (Longlevens) – The second worldie of the month was scored by Cam Williams and it was a stunner. Nearly 30 yards out, weak footed half-volley, audacious. Outside of the goal he was superb against Worcester Raiders and he, alongside the rest of the midfield, won the game for Levens for continually pressing the visitors and winning the ball in some key areas.

Midfield – Jack W Smith (Slimbridge) – I wound Smith up about his missed penalty in the shoot-out vs Longlevens and the pattern of him going missing when Severn Sport turn up and to be fair to him, he responded well this month. Scored a stunner against Wells and was a real threat all match. Slimbridge are a better side with him in it and it is no surprise that he is rumoured to be attracting interest from the step above.

Left Wing Back – King Baidoo (Gloucester City) – I know, I know. It is mental that I have King down as a left wing back, but he has put in some stand out performances this month on the left hand side, so with the 3 at the back we are going this month, King is a great option on that left side. He impressed me against Berkhamsted and impressed Alfie against Poole Town. Personally, I’m delighted to see him back at City and he has the potential to be a quality player for the Tigers.

Forward – Jack Hughes (Dursley Town/Slimbridge) – Jack Hughes had arguably the best 72 hours a striker could have this season. Scored the winner in a cup final on the Wednesday night, then came off the bench to score a late winner for Slimbridge on Friday night, maintaining their superb start to the season. I was delighted to see Hughes score in the final and for me, was just being Monday for Man of the Match for his tireless work ethic for the team.

Forward – Theo Bevan (Longlevens U18s) – The final scorer of an October stunner was Theo Bevan. He scored in the win against Studley and after bagging against Gloucester City U18s, he stepped onto the ball in the centre circle, taking a touch, before hitting a half-volley into the very top corner. It capped off a really impressive performance from him and the rest of the front four for Levens, who, really pressed and caused City problems all game long. Outstanding.

Here is the XI in full:

The subs bench includes 7 players to impress over the month and in full, they are below:

Mirry Smith (Gloucester City Women Reserves)
Eve Trimbrell (Cirencester Town Ladies)
Annabel Bean (Downend Flyers Women)

Alfie Mann (Dursley Town/Slimbridge U18s)
Kaya Demirok (Longlevens U18s)
