Reg Davis Cup Quarter Finals: Gala to head to Dursley after win over Hardwicke

Gala Wilton saw off Hardwicke, 2-0, to secure their spot in the Reg Davis Cup Quarter Final – where they will head to Dursley Town.
First half goals from Jacob Eakers and Waqib Said saw Gala pull ahead inside the first 25 minutes and Hardwicke never really looked like troubling the scoreline.
Wednesday’s result means Gala have started the season with four wins out of four – keeping three clean sheets in a row, after wins in the Cup against Kings Stanley and Bibury, before winning their first league fixture against Lydney Town Reserves last weekend.
Gala will head to Dursley Town in the Quarter Finals after Dursley beat Berkeley Town 5-0 in their Second Round tie.
A hattrick from Callum Dark and brace from Alfie Mann saw Dursley run away the victors and get back to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat against Tredworth at the weekend.
Elsewhere, Longlevens Reserves will play Barnwood United after they both claimed 1-0 wins in their respective Second Round ties.
Alex Knight’s solitary effort was enough for Levens to claim their second win over Bredon in a week and they will now welcome Barnwood to Longford Lane next Wednesday.
The winner of those two Quarter Finals will then meet in the Semi Finals.
On the other side of the draw, Stonehouse Town Reserves will host Whaddon United in an entertaining prospect, after comfortable looking wins (3-1 & 1-7).
Painswick clinched a 3-0 win over Lydney Town Reserves to set up a home Quarter Final against Smiths Barometrics, who beat Tredworth Tigers on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Kayte Lane.
The Quarter Final ties are set to take place on Wednesday 20 August, with the Semi Finals on Saturday 6 September.
