The Severn Sport Player of the Month is back and this season, we are going at it alone!

Our new Player of the Month sponsor for the 2024/25 season is Cirencester Carpet Centre Ltd visit their website here to check out their range of carpets and vinyl flooring, directions to the showroom and contact information to arrange a viewing of their samples.

As usual, the Player of the Month shortlist is made up of three players included in the Team of the Month for that month – check out January’s Team of the Month here.

The winner is presented with the award and an image of them receiving the POTM trophy is then shared on Severn Sport’s social media during the following month.

Some of last season’s winners included Longlevens winger Shiyak Sutherland, Gloucester City Women Development Captain, Nicole Lewis, Slimbridge winger Rudi McKinnon and Chalford duo Ben Minnican and Luke Benneyworth.

The first Player of the Month of the season was Hartpury University’s Riley McGregor, whilst Claire Gabb of Gloucester City Women Reserves won the award for September and Longlevens defender Sam Kelly won the award for October.

Jacob Rodgers from Slimbridge was awarded the trophy for December and we are still yet to see the winner of November’s award!

Ben Baxter (Hartpury University) – Baxter is one of the best players we get to see in the county. A massive statement I know but the guy is unreal. Whether he is playing left back or left wing, he finds a way to influence the game and is a constant outlet. An absolute gem.

Louis Manning (Hartpury University) – Manning has been electric for Hartpury this season and against Brimscombe he was once again, unplayable. He has a habit of being “the guy” who has that game defining moment and to be fair to him, he continues to deliver at frightening levels of consistency.

Nathan Jenkins (Hartpury University) – If the season ended tomorrow, Jenkins would be up for the Live Player of the Season at the End of Season Awards. He has impressed every time we have watched him and he really does make Hartpury tick in the middle of the park.

The Severn Sport Player of the Month will be back next month – so check out our social media throughout the month to find out who won this month’s trophy!
