Chalford manager Ben Powell has praised his side for their commitment and dedication to the club as they target the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One title.
Chalford, who finished second last season, currently sit top of the pile but are still to play second placed Cheltenham Civil Service twice and face a difficult finish to what Powell has described as a “very tough league.”
Powell joined us on this week’s Severn Sport on Dean Radio and spoke at length about the consistency his side have shown after being unbeaten for nearly 2/3s of the 2018/19 season.
“To be honest we are lucky to have this group of players,” Powell said.
“The guys believe in the club and what we are looking to achieve and they dedicate themselves to the cause which makes things better for us,”
Chalford have already tasted silverware this season, winning the Reg Davis Cup earlier in the campaign and Powell has challenged his players to build on the momentum they have given themselves since to go on and better last season’s runners-up finish.
Powell also discusses the importance of the club’s social media presence and tips his hat to a number of clubs in the division that keep it competitive and offers his side a challenge, week in, week out.
Also on this week’s show we are joined by Longlevens Reserves manager Luke Kavanagh who discusses life as a manager, making his playing return for the First Team last weekend and previewing his side’s derby fixture with Tuffley Rovers Reserves this weekend.
Listen on Saturday morning from 10am live on Dean Radio.
