Ethan Moore scored his first competitive goal for Gloucester City to cap off a professional and clinical New Years Day victory at Oxford City.
The Tigers travelled to Marsh Lane eager to put to bed a bad run of form that saw them beaten at home by Oxford on Boxing Day.
And it was Gloucester who started brightest with a whipped Ed Williams free kick nodded beyond Oxford keeper Jack Stevens by a ruthless Chris Knowles.
Gloucester lost Ed Williams to injury later on in the half moments after Karnell Chambers had capitalised on an Oxford error to loop in a deserved second Tigers goal.
City had Tom Hadler to thank for keeping the hosts at bay as he denied both Zac McEachran & Rob Sinclair in the first half before keeping out a blistering effort from second half substitute Godfrey Poku.
And so it was left for Ethan Moore to have the final say in a very good game of football. He took advantage of a Mamadou Fofana error to run in one on one and caress the ball beyond the advancing Stevens.
Joe Parker nearly added a fourth late on but by then the Tigers’ tails were up and the points were safe.
