Here at Severn Sport this season we have our new Player of the Month in partnership with AthElite Sports and it’s time to crown the first winner.
As announced during the lockdown period, ourselves at AthElite Sports have entered into a new partnership and this initiative is in place to continue rewarding players for their hardwork and dedication over the month.
The players that qualify for the award are those who made our Team of the Month for that month – to view August’s team of the month click here.
The winner will then receive an array of items from AthElite Sports to benefit their stock of kit and performance. That player will receive a pair of AthElite Grip Socks, 2 rolls of sock tape, 1 roll of the foam underwrap and 3 SiS Isotonic Energy Gels to reward a fantastic month.
So who is the inaugural player of the month? Let’s find out…
Congratulations to Dan King of Slimbridge who has been picked by Ryan and Kelsey as the first ever Player of the Month here at Severn Sport. Ryan has given his thoughts on the choice below.
Kelsey and I have been so excited for the Player of the Month in general and we knew that picking a stand-out individual during pre-season was always going to be difficult.
But Dan has made this pretty straight forward in the end to be honest. We have had players like Jack Beardsell and Brad Martin have outstanding individual displays which saw them score hat-tricks, but King has been so consistent over the three games we saw Slimbridge play in and was one of if not the stand-out player for Slimbridge in all of those fixtures.
The improvement he has shown in that Number 10 role will fill him with encouragement from a personal perspective after being unlucky with injuries last season, but it will also bring excitement to the Swans after losing their top scorer in the close season.
King takes the crown and I’m delighted for him!
And there we have it! A bit of history as we name the first Player of the Month with AthElite Sports. Come back next month to see who is the next recipient.
