Severn Sport End of Season Awards 2019/20: Manager of the Season

How are the heads? All good? We press on with the fourth and final day of the Severn Sport End of Season Awards and we start with the Manager of the Season.

This season we are announcing the winners across the Easter weekend and yesterday saw Slimbridge’s Sol Wanjau-Smith take the award of Signing of the Season before Tuffley Rovers fan Joe Cole was given the Best Social Media Account Award and Longlevens centre back Ollie Long was crowned our Severn Sport Live Player of the Season.

On Day Two, we confirmed that Brockworth Albion 3-3 Frampton United Reserves in the Reg Davis Cup was our Game of the Season! And in the Breakthrough Player of the Season category, Cirencester Town’s Levi Irving went home the victor!

Then in the Young Player of the Season category, Slimbridge and Shortwood United left back Jacob Waddington was a popular winner!

This morning we confirmed the first of the GNSL winners, with Chalford AFC claiming GNSL Team of the Season, before Andoversford manager Matt Brown was named the GNSL Manager of the Season.

Lydney Town Reserves striker Sam Wines took home the GNSL Player of the Season accolade.

In the final award of Day Three, Frampton United were crowned our overall Team of the Season, with both Ryan and Kelsey’s XIs revealed too!

The three nominees for the Manager of the Season are; Longlevens manager Craig Martin, Frampton United boss Josh Loveridge and Fairford Town gaffer Jody Bevan. And the winner is…

Bevan takes it in a category that divided Kelsey and I. In the end we went for the former Gloucester City, Cirencester Town and Cinderford Town man due to the change on and off the field that he has helped orchestrate at Cinder Lane. He has progressed the club on the field every season and this year turned them into title challengers at a decent level. He has installed a winning mentality and by bringing in personnel to help oversee it, is building a great future for the Hellenic Premier side.

It is worth nothing that we were happy with any of the three nominees winning the accolade and could make a case for any of them!

The Severn Sport End of Season Awards 2019/20 will be spanned over the Easter Weekend with the winners revealed throughout. Check the website everyday as we continue to reveal and announce the nominees.

In the final two awards, which we will be revealing the winners of throughout today are the John Ashplant Local Hero Award and the big one, the Player of the Season.
