REPORT – Oxford City Nomads 4 Longlevens 0

Longlevens were outplayed for large periods of the game here by a young passing Oxford City side who for the majority of the afternoon outclassed levens.

There were brief glimpses for the away side. Craig Martin had a half chance inside the first minute but couldn’t quite latch onto fullback Luke Kavanaghs long ball and Steve Jackson was released by Brad Martin but miscued as he attempted to lob the keeper who was along way from his Line.

Taking nothing away from Oxford City who had a large amount of possession it finished 2-0 at the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Oxford kept good possession and undone levens two more times with some clinical
quality in the final third.

It was until the final moments of the game where Longlevens got their first real chance as Jonty Welch chested the ball down inside the penalty area and with only the keeper to beat shot over the bar.

Afterwards Longelevens manager French said “it was a tough day at the office, take nothing away from Oxford City they were far superior today. We must learn alot from defeats like this and its something we will work hard to improve from”

Longlevens: Hall, Kavanagh, Smylle, Beaton, Comfort, OConnor (Montgomery 60), Hughes, Welch, C Martin (c) (Nzelo 70), B Martin, Jackson.
