Oxford United, Bristol Rovers and Newport County monitoring former Cheltenham Town and Gloucester City forward

Professional clubs are circling around former Cheltenham Town and Gloucester City forward Karnell Chambers, with four teams all showing interest in the young attacker.

Severn Sport understands that Oxford United, Bristol Rovers, Newport County and one other club are all showing interest in the Chippenham Town striker.

The 21 year-old, a client of Core Sports, has found the back of the net 8 times in the National League South so far this season (10 in all competitions) and his performances have turned heads, leading to interest from clubs higher up the football pyramid.

Chambers began his career in the academy at Cheltenham Town and has had spells with Bishop’s Cleeve, Cinderford Town and Evesham United.

He signed for Gloucester City amidst interest from Ross County, before leaving for a spell at Swedish club Syrianska, eventually returning to the Tigers where he was a prominent feature in 2017/18, finishing the season at Chippenham Town.
